VyStar Credit Union

Dan the man has
a plan.

the ask

VyStar Credit Union wanted to boost their credit card usage and applications for new cards. They asked Dalton to create an engaging campaign that would reward cardholders with a substantial prize – 3 million rewards points, valued at $30,000.

the execution

We developed the “Endless Summer Sweepstakes” campaign to captivate and motivate VyStar’s audience. Our team handled everything from brainstorming the campaign name and designing the sweepstakes logo to planning and securing media placements. We created and tested TV spots, developed a custom landing page, and crafted a variety of digital and physical campaign support materials including banners, social media posts, traffic radio, broadcast and connected TV, out-of-home ads, in-branch promotions, and targeted emails.

The campaign, crafted with colorful, eye-catching art direction and quirky music, featured the likable character “Dan,” who embodied the fun and rewarding nature of the sweepstakes. The vibrant color palette, memorable rhyming script, and symmetrical scene design invited audiences to join Dan in his journey to earn and win points, making the campaign both visually appealing and entertaining. The campaign ran successfully for 8 weeks.

the results

For starters, “Dan the Man” helped VyStar win a coveted Diamond Award representing the best marketing campaigns in the credit union industry during 2023. The campaign also smashed goals in both transactions and new cards opened with a 98% YOY increase. There were over 47 million total unique webpage views (1,002% YOY increase) and a 313% growth in social awareness. Looks like Dan really was the man.
