As a member of the Public Relations and Communications team, the PR Senior Account Manager is responsible for leading the creation and implementation of public relations initiatives. This role demonstrates proficiency in skills needed to be a senior member of the team including writing, researching, reporting, idea generation, and pitching. In addition, the PR Senior Account Manager demonstrates quality leadership and management skills. Employees at this level perform job responsibilities without direction on day-to-day tasks.

qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, public affairs, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or a related discipline
  • Strong senior-level writing skills with the ability to craft compelling content across channels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and deliver high-quality work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing junior team members
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in clients, their industries, and contributing to agency success
  • Strong client service instincts with the confidence to guide strategic conversations and make sound recommendations

responsibilities

  • Serve as primary day-to-day contact with clients
  • Lead annual strategy and planning efforts with clients, along with initiating amendments to plans as necessary
  • Present end of year reports and strategic plans to clients
  • Play a major role in the development of comprehensive public relations programs that span traditional media and influencer engagement
  • Proactively identify potential client issues and propose solutions
  • Consistently generate broad-ranging media coverage that achieves client goals
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters in relevant markets and industries
  • Direct planning and execution of client events including press conferences, community meeting, FAM tours and more. (Includes preparing speaker, developing advisories/releases, coordinating logistics, pitching media, etc.)
  • Manage internal client billing and activity reports
  • Assist in the management and development of internal staff
  • Serve as Agency champion through identification of new business prospects and opportunities for cross departmental integration
